In the 49ers' 27-7 victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday at Levi's Stadium, the Seahawks' running game stalled out for the whole game.

Rashaad Penny, a former first-round pick, and Kenneth Walker III, the Seahawks' second-round selection in April of last year, carried the ball 10 times for a total of 25 yards.

The Seahawks rushed for 36 yards as a team on 14 attempts. The 49ers lost to the Chicago Bears in their season opener last Thursday after giving up 99 running yards and one score on 37 carries.

In the first two weeks, the opponents of the 49ers average 2.5 yards per carry.

According to 49ers linebacker Fred Warner, "it all starts up front." "Playing off of the D-line, which constantly causes penetration and causes chaos, makes our job on the back end so simple.

"We go into every game knowing we want to stop the run, and I believe when you flip the film on, you see that all 11 just rush to the football."

And neither Justin Fields nor Geno Smith, the first two quarterbacks they faced, were particularly effective.
