Vincius Jr. of Real Madrid was the focus of racial yelling from a group of Atlético Madrid supporters prior to Sunday's Madrid derby.

It happened the day after Vincius denounced the criticism for his dancing goal celebrations that he claimed was racist.

On Friday, Pedro Bravo, a well-known agent and the head of the Association of Spanish Agents, made an appearance on Spanish television and compared the Brazilian's dance celebrations after scoring to ape behaviour.

The forward "should quit playing the monkey," according to the argument that he was disrespecting his opponents.

In his statement, Bravo said, "I want to explain that the word 'playing the monkey,' which I used incorrectly to characterise Vinicius' goal celebration dance, was applied metaphorically ('to play the fool')."

When CNN asked Atlético about the chanting outside the stadium, they did not immediately react, but they did tweet prior to the game, "Support Atleti with passion and respect to the rival!"
